Site Component Hierarchy

A site is composed of nested objects that define its content and layout. High-level objects like menus, pages, archive and taxonomies define your site's organization, while widget objects like containers, HTML text areas, cards, lists, etc... define its content and layout. The basic hierarchy looks like this:

• Site
  • Menu: a site may have only one menu; it will be shared across all pages and archives in the site
    • Menu Item
    • Mega-Nav
  • Page (Public & Member-Only): a site may have an infinite number of pages
    • Container: the container is the basic building block for page layout

  • Shortcodes: Implement complex content and formatting funcionality by adding simple tags in your text.
